Red Blend
2019 Invocation
CURRENT RELEASE!
2019 was a great vintage here in Sonoma County. It was a wetter than average winter and very wet spring, the vines were delayed in budbreak and bloom by about 2 or 3 weeks. Summer was very warm but harvest was still delayed overall by a couple weeks on most blocks.
This wine is a blend of our favorite barrels of petite sirah and zinfandel from the 2019 vintage. Each block was picked and fermented and aged separately and we blended just before bottling.
The nose of this beautiful blend is full of brambly cassis notes, dark chocolate, spice, roasted hazelnuts and dried orange rind. The palate is chewy and dense with more dark chocolate notes and hints of black cherry, earth, and roasted coffee. The tannins and big and full and complement the intensity of this wine nicely. Definitely a wine to hold on to as this will continue to improve with age for a good long time, 6-7 years.
