2017 Pyramid Cabernet Sauvignon
NEW RELEASE, AND OUR WINE OF THE MONTH!
Tasting Notes
Our 2017 Pyramid Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the Hawkes Family Pyramid vineyard in Alexander Valley. Named Pyramid for the extremely sharp, often terraced hills with sparsely-soiled hillsides on which only cabernet sauvignon grows, yielding small amounts of intense fruit.
This 2017 Pyramid is not a “punch you in face” Napa cabernet, it’s an elegant style cab that lets the varietal truly express itself. The result is that this is an age-worthy, late bloomer, that’s worth the wait and showing its true colors now. We recently popped open a bottle of this cab and we loved how it’s developed and can’t wait to see where it’s headed.
Tasting Notes: This Cabernet Sauvignon has a lot of layers and depth. We recommend holding or decanting this wine a few hours prior to enjoying. Notes of peppercorn, leather and sage greet you on the nose. Then, swirl and take a sip for flavors of cranberry, currant and plum to overtake your palate with an unforgettable finish. This Cab will benefit from patience to develop over the next 8 years.
Our 2017 Pyramid Cabernet Sauvignon is included in our current virtual wine-tasting offerings; The Friday Night Single-Vineyard Flight and our Saturday Night Seasonal Flight.
