Cast Wines Sonoma California Grey Palm Petite Sirah 2013

2013 Grey Palm Estate Petite Sirah

When our Grey Palm Estate vineyard was planted in 2000, it was primarily destined to be a Zinfandel wine source but, in the traditional Italian method so common in our region, a small block, only 1.1 acres, was planted in Petite Sirah. This was most often done to provide a blending grape to add texture and color to the Zinfandel wines. We at Cast Estate decided instead to make a small production batch of Petite Sirah, and we are so happy we did!

Tasting Notes

Tasting notes for the 2013 include a touch of violet on the nose giving way to black currant with a hint of licorice. Blackberries and plums on the palate with just a hint of dark chocolate. This wine is well integrated, has nice acidity and good structure.
Enjoy over the next 20 years!
